The only currency accepted in Australia is the Australian dollar and in New Zealand is the New Zealand Dollar. In both countries residents like to pay for everything on their credit and debit cards and therefore, the zip-zap machines are found in most shops. It’s even commonplace and acceptable to put drinks at bars, ice creams at convenience stores or even a packet of gum on plastic. However, most places will have a minimum spend for credit cards.
