What if I want something I can’t find?
The packages we have on the website are our standard recommended packages which are instantly confirmable when you book. Of course, there’s a ton of activities and hotels around the country that aren’t as easy or quick to book which means we can’t put them on the website. However, it doesn’t mean we aren’t able to organise it for you! We have access to a huge range of awesome experiences. If there’s something else you would like, just call or email us and we’ll organise it for you.
What if I have more than 5 people wanting to travel?
No problem! Well, it is a problem for our computer but not for our friendly consultants. Just give us a call or email and we’ll organise it for you. Remember to let us know the ages of any kiddies travelling with you.

I want a bigger car, four-wheel drive or Ferrari!
Yes, no problem! Well, the Ferrari may be a bit tricky, especially if there are more than two of you but we do have access to a wide range of vehicle types that aren’t featured on the website. Just email us with your dates, preferred itinerary and the type of vehicle you are after and we will come back to you with the adjusted pricing.
What if I want to add in nights or change the itinerary slightly?
Too easy. Again, just give our friendly consultants a call or email and we’ll organise it for you.
What if I need assistance?
Our general office lines are open 8.00am to 8.00pm New Zealand time. However, if you have an easy or quick question, don’t hesitate to call us later on in the evening as we have chained one of our helpful consultants to the phone. Of course, if it’s an emergency, please call us anytime, day or night.
I've booked, but I've lost my reference number. What do I do?
Don’t worry, shortly after completing your booking an email will be sent to you with your itinerary and travel details, including the booking reference number. There will also be a link to an online version so you can have it right there with you on your Smartphone when you travel. If you still can’t find it, email us the names of everyone travelling and we’ll send you through your details again.
Can I book one of your fabulous experiences over the phone?
Yes, our consultants are available for phone bookings from 8:00am to 8:00pm New Zealand time. A NZD$25 fee per person travelling phone booking fee will apply.

Why can't I find the price advertised online?
First in, best dressed. Our from prices are based on booking in advance to secure the best deals. Once those rooms are gone, the system will find you the next best rate available, and quote that. You also have the option to influence the accommodation choices for each night of your journey in the next screen. Also remember, if you've upgraded the hotels and car or added tours, this will affect the price too. Feel free to call us if you need help.

Why can't I book accommodation by itself?
The key benefit of Pure Journeys is that we have done the thinking for you, put together the ideal itineraries to see this great little country, selected a cracking range of places to stay, along with the best sightseeing and a rental vehicle, all at the best possible packaged price. In addition, when you book with us you will receive a detailed itinerary containing some of our best “knowledge gems” of what to see and do on the way. Why can’t you book accommodation by itself? Because with Pure Journeys, it’s all about the journey!
Booking, Cancellation and Amendments
How can I get the date of travel changed?
Depending on how close to your travel date you are and the time of year you’re travelling, we can easily change your travelling date. Please email or call us with your booking reference number to make the change. Your booking will be subject to the availability of the various hotels and journeys involved. If a hotel or journey is not available on your new date, an alternative will be offered and the price adjusted accordingly.
How can I cancel my booking?
We need all cancellations to be sent through in writing. Please email us with your booking reference number if you wish to cancel. We will respond within 24 hours. If you do not receive a response from us within 24 hours (or on Monday if over the weekend), assume your email is lost in cyber space and please give us a call.
If I want to amend/change/alter my booking what fees apply?
A change fee of $125 per change, per booking will be charged in addition to any fees charged by the hotels and tour companies involved. We can advise you the exact charges before changing if requested.
If I cancel my booking what fees apply?
A cancellation fee of $250 per booking will be charged in addition to any fees charged by the hotels and tour companies involved. Any booking cancelled less than 45 days prior to travel is not eligible for a refund. No refunds can be provided if you fail to show up for any of your booked arrangements.
Payment, Security and Privacy
Why is a booking I made a few moments ago now not available after I've entered my payment details?
Due to the nature of booking online, there could be any number of people booking the same package as you are. Great minds think alike right!? If the other people are quicker at entering their details, then they will have snapped up that package before you. Once you have found what you want, we encourage you to have your credit card and personal details for all the travellers close by and not linger too long when filling in the booking forms. If we cannot confirm your original booking request, we will always offer you the next best deal based on your original selection. Unless you receive the confirmation screen message and booking reference number from us, then we have not taken any money from your card.
Can I pay a deposit now and the rest at a later date?
Unfortunately no, when making a booking with us we require the full payment at time of booking.
Are my credit card details secure?
Yes they certainly are! Security is important to us so your payment transaction and credit card details are protected by the latest SSL certified 128 bit encryption technology. We do not ever retain or distribute your credit card information.
Will my session 'time out' on purejourneys.com?
Yes, if you linger too long in the booking area, your session will time out. To protect you and your personal details, you have a 30 minute window of inactivity. We recommend that once you have selected your journey you proceed quickly through the remaining steps in the process to ensure the great deal you’ve found isn't snapped up by someone else. So before proceeding, go visit the bathroom, brew a new cup of tea and make sure Coronation Street isn’t on for at least another 30 minutes.
