16 nights, Auckland to Queenstown

The Ultimate Middle Earth Tour

Explore the highlights of Middle Earth and the spectacular scenery made famous in the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies.

You’ll visit film locations from both trilogies across New Zealand. In Wellington you get a behind the scenes peak at Weta Workshop, where many of your favourite characters were brought to life.

In the South Island the scenery is magnificent. And – a special treat! – you’ll get the best view from your helicopter tour of southern film locations, courtesy of the crew that Peter Jackson contracted for aerial filming of the LOTR and Hobbit movies.

Spread across 4,000 km² it lies at the South Island's north-easternmost point, between Tasman Bay and Cloudy Bay. Sparsely populated, many of the isolated houses and resorts are only accessible by boats making this an ideal getaway destination.
