Experience of the Week: Sounds Connection Marlborough wine tour

Sounds Connections offers you a memorable New Zealand wine tour. This day tour is a chance to see some of the magical wineries around the gourmet world of Marlborough.

Marlborough, New Zealand

What is the Experience?

Get a memorable taste of the Marlborough wine region. A foodie? A self-confessed wine connoisseur? Just partial to a New Zealand drop? We recommend this Marlborough wine tour. Beginning in the heart of wine-country, you’ll learn about the history of wine making and the geography of the region as well as the individual wine making processes. Take in the acres of lush vineyards as you are transported through a delightful mix of well known estates and hidden gems.

Wineries include the Hans Herzog Estate, Wither Hills, Cloudy Bay and Johanneshof Cellars. As well as sampling the wine from each of these unique New Zealand vineyards, you’ll meet the winemakers themselves and enjoy a gourmet three course lunch (beautifully paired with matching wines - of course). Finally, you tour is rounded off with a sweet stop at the Matakana Boutique Chocolate factory - home to a delectable array of homemade gourmet chocolates. The perfect end to a day well spent, if you ask us!

Where is it located?

Sounds Connections is based in Picton and just off highway 1 on Wellington Street about a 5-minute drive from the Ferry port. They also offer pickups from your accommodation in Picton or Blenheim as well as Picton Airport, Ferry terminals and train stations.

Who would enjoy this?

This is a great experience for couples or groups of friends who enjoy the finer side of food and wine. Please note the tour is only available from November – April.

Pure Fact

World-renowned for its sauvignon blanc – some say the best ‘Sav’ in the world – Marlborough is New Zealand’s largest wine region, accounting for two-thirds of our countries wine plantings and up to 80% of the country's wine exports.
