Voted to be the very best golf resort in New Zealand at the World Travel Awards for the last three years, Millbrook Golf Course is truly spectacular. It also took top honours throughout Australasia at the same awards, and is co-hosting the upcoming New Zealand Open.
It's regarded as one of the world's most scenic golf courses, offering as many photo opportunities as it does magic golfing moments. Three nine hole courses are named after prominent Queenstown landmarks, with NZPGA qualified golf coaching on hand for those who want a little extra assistance. You can even try a golf school, or practice your skills on the putting and chipping greens.
Visitors are always welcome at Christchurch's leading golf course, Clearwater. The championship golf course has been a venue for professional golf for the past 11 years, however all players are welcome to experience the six tee choices. The manicured greens are surrounded by spectacular spring-fed lakes.
There are practice areas, modern electric golf cars with GPS capabilities and towels and toiletries provided free of charge.
Terrace Downs, Canterbury
Located in Canterbury's High Country, the par 72, 18-hole Terrace Downs golf course is rated as one of the best in the country. Set amongst the foothills of the Southern Alps, this is a scenic delight that tourists will love. Spectacular views make it challenging for players to keep their eyes on the ball, but it's worth it to experience this fantastic course.
