Who would enjoy this?
Couples who are looking for something a bit different and enjoy a little historical charm with their accommodation. Eliza’s offers a chance to experience the culture and history of New Zealand and take some time to relax after your long flight before heading off on your self-drive adventures.
Built in 1861, Eliza's historic B&B was for much of its life a family home, before becoming a Boutique Hotel in 1981. In 1908 F H Pyne bought Eliza’s Manor (named no.82 back then) and began an exciting period of history for the property. Pyne had established Pyne & Co in 1887, which later became the Pyne Gould Guinness company which still serves the rural community of the South Island today. Pyne was famed for his immaculate appearance, freshly pressed suits, laundered linen and polished shoes.
