Buses And Trains
New Zealand has an extensive and efficient bus network throughout the country. You can get almost anywhere on the main bus line called Intercity and the scenic train journeys are a great way to break up your self drive holiday.
You can get almost anywhere on the main bus line called Intercity. Intercity operates an excellent fleet of buses and on the tourist routes they provide informative commentary and frequent photo stops on their Great Sights and Newman's journeys.
Buses within the cities are the main method of public transport in New Zealand.
There is only a small passenger train network in New Zealand. The three routes travel between Auckland and Wellington (Northern Explorer Scenic Train), Picton and Christchurch (Coastal Pacific Scenic Train) and Christchurch and Greymouth (Tranz Alpine Scenic Train). The Auckland to Wellington Northern Explorer service links up with the Interislander Ferry and then the Picton to Christchurch Coastal Pacific train so you can travel from Auckland to Christchurch by train and ferry.
Independent Coach Tours
If you don't want to self drive on your New Zealand holiday we can combine train and coach travel to create an independent coach holiday just for you. This gives you the flexibility to travel where and when you want but you can just sit back, look out the window and enjoy the view. Check out our sister company New Zealand Coach Tours for their large range of independent coach tours, all of which can be customised to suit you www.newzealandcoachtours.co.nz
