Tour de Blenheim

Located near the north-eastern tip of the South Island, Blenheim is one of New Zealand's sunniest regions and home to a thriving wine industry. In fact, it's the biggest winemaking region in the country, with around 290 grape growers and 65 wineries specialising in distinctive and internationally renowned Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Gewurztraminer. Blenheim is also a proud host of the annual Marlborough Wine and Food Festival, an event that attracts visitors from all over the world.

With its laid-back atmosphere and impressive catalogue of vinos, Blenheim is a great place to stop and explore the food and wine of New Zealand while on your holiday. Ditch the car completely and give your legs (and taste buds) a workout when you take a bicycle tour through some of the country's premier vineyards and wineries.

There are a few companies offering similar services, but our pick of the bunch is Wine Tours By Bike. As the closest bike rental company to the vineyards, Wine Tours By Bike allows you to be at your first winery within two minutes of hopping on your bicycle!

With a choice of well-maintained bikes and helmets, you'll love the experience of cycling along the quiet rural roads through the beautiful Blenheim countryside. The ground is flat and the roads are well maintained, so it's an easy-going day regardless of your level of fitness.

To help you make the most of your time, Wine Tours By Bike also offers a complimentary pick up and drop off service, as the wineries are located about 20km out of the Blenheim township.

You don't have to be a wine snob to appreciate the delicious samples on offer. Tantalise the taste buds and saturate your senses on a cycling tour of Blenheim's famed vineyards and wineries.
