Zorb

If you haven't heard of Zorbing, you're in for a treat. It's the coolest and most unique way to explore Rotorua's rolling green hills.

A Zorb is a giant inflated globe that rolls downhill – with you inside. Add water to the globe for an extra special ride, choosing between many different tracks and ride variations. Travellers come from all over the world to experience the thrill of tumbling down a slope inside a giant bubble, and you'll never forget this moment.

Mountain bike

The Redwoods Forest is one of the nation's oldest mountain bike networks, containing masterful trails, perfect riding surfaces and fantastic scenery to top off your ride. Whether you're a beginner or advanced biker, there's something for everyone here, and at 130km of evolving trails, you'll never get bored.

There are trail keys dotted throughout the forest indicating beginner, easy, intermediate, advanced, expert, and extreme tracks, so it's easy to find the best one to suit your skill level. Don't forget to pack a water bottle, as this is definitely one workout that's harder than it seems.

Canopy tour

Rotorua is home to New Zealand's sole native forest zipline canopy tour, where you can learn about wilderness conservation and wildlife as well as soar high above the treetops.

Fly through the trees on zips cables, stopping at bridges, treetop platforms and trails as you get a bird's eye view of the action. You'll be suspended above the forest floor in your intimate tour through an untouched New Zealand environment.
